Boone NC Area Wineries
Scattered throughout the High Country, our Boone NC Wineries enjoy a climate that has proven successful for award winning wines. Grandfather Vineyard won gold at the NC State Fair for their Ice Wine in 2011, as well as bronze medals for their Terrace Gold and Profile Red. Banner Elk Winery, begun in 2005, has won several medals at the North Carolina State Fair and International Eastern Wine Competition.
Grandfather Vineyard & Winery
This terraced mountain vineyard is nestled by the Watauga River at the base of Grandfather Mountain, and is the first producing winery in Watauga County. Be sure to say hello to Casey, their vineyard dog! From mid-May to mid-October, enjoy Music in the Vineyard; visit their tasting room, pick up a gift basket, or enjoy their seating area by the river while visiting Grandfather Vineyard & Winery.
Banner Elk Winery
Only a few minutes’ drive from downtown Banner Elk, the Banner Elk Winery offers a relaxed atmosphere and fun for your entire family, including those with four legs! Wine tastings are available any time of year, and winery tours are offered on weekends from May through September. Banner Elk Winery also hosts special events throughout the year.
Linville Falls Winery
A short drive from Boone and Banner Elk, NC is Linville Falls Winery. This 40-acre vineyard and farm produces several varieties of grapes as well as berries, apples, pumpkins and Christmas trees. Tastings are available daily, and special events are hosted at Linville Falls Winery frequently, including live music and featured food vendors on summer weekends.

Beech Mountain Brewing Co.
One of the only breweries in the US owned and operated by a ski area, Beech Mountain Brewing Co. is tucked into the village of Beech Mountain Resort. Visitors have the option of enjoying their beers at the Beech Mountain Brewing Co. restaurant, or heading up to the Beech Mountain 5506’ Skybar.
Flat Top Brewing Co.
Located in downtown Banner Elk, NC Flat Top Brewing Co.is one of the highest breweries on the east coast. Their craft beers are named for local landmarks and use locally sourced hops and pure mountain spring water. Flat Top Brewing Co. does not offer food; however, guests are welcome to bring their own, and enjoy darts, corn hole and live music.
Blowing Rock NC Microbreweries
Blowing Rock Brewing Co.
Located in the heart of historic downtown Blowing Rock NC, Blowing Rock Brewing Company offers brewery tours on Saturday afternoons. Their Blowing Rock Ale House Restaurant offers cuisine capturing the same mountain artisan feel as their beer with which it pairs, and uses local, organic ingredients when available. Summer visitors also enjoy the Friday evening Music on the Lawn at the Blowing Rock Ale House (formerly The Inn at Ragged Gardens).

Lost Province Brewing Co.
Downtown Boone NC is home to Lost Province Brewing Co., a destination microbrewery and gastropub that serves wood-fired food as well as innovative craft beer and cider. A great stop when spending a day in the historic downtown area of Boone, family-friendly Lost Province Brewing Co. offers indoor and outdoor dining, and kids love watching the food go in and out of the large copper-clad wood-fired oven. Appalachian Mountain Brewery
Bordering two creeks in Boone, Appalachian Mountain Brewery offers outdoor seating, an outdoor bar and a covered heated porch.
